POSSIBILITIES OF PRAYER

Everything was possible to the men and women of the bible who knew how to pray. Prayer indeed, opened limitless storehouse, and God's hand withheld nothing from them. Here are a few examples from the bible.
Jonah was in dire condition when," the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was might tempest."when lots were cast," the lot fell upon Jonah." He was cast into the sea, but " the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah....Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God in the fish's belly...and the Lord spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land." When the disobedient prophet lifted up his voice in prayer, God heard and sent deliverance.

The message of God to Hezekiah was." set your house in order; for you shall die and not live." Hezekiah turned his face towards the wall and prayed unto the Lord and said " I beseech thee O Lord, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and in perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight." and Hezekiah wept. God told Isaiah to say to Hezekiah, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: Behold, I will...add unto your days fifteen years"

Pharaoh was a firm believer in the possibilities of prayer and its ability to relieve. When staggering under the woeful curses of God, he pleaded with Moses to intercede for him. Four times he pleaded when the plagues were scourging Egypt. Four times were those urgent appeals made to Moses and four times did prayer lift the dread curse from the hard king and his doomed land.

4 STEPS TO BECOMING A TRUE CHRISTIAN

Step1

Gods purpose for man is peace and life. John 3:16 " for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that we may not perish but have eternal life." For this Jesus came into our world but even with that most church goers, do not experience this abundant life because of the problem of sin.

Step2
Man created with free will, uses his freedom to disobey God and to go his own sinful way, something which is true of every man and woman. The bible says "all have sinned and fall short of glory of God." as a result we are reaping the wages of sin(which) is death. It is only the gift of God in Christ Jesus our Lord which can restore eternal life to men and women.Yet men everywhere are trying fruitlessly with good works, religion, church attendance, false religion and idolatry and even trying to be moral as a means to bridging the gap between God and man. The bible says  that there is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. (proverbs 14:12)

Step3
Gods remedy is the cross of Jesus. By his death, burial and Resurrection Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and bridged the gap between God and man.1Timothy2:5," For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind." Hebrews 9:22," In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Step4
To be born again or simply to be acceptable to God: To respond in faith and receive Christ through personal invitation. This requires admission of sin and repentance, then there has to be confession of sin to God and receipt of forgiveness and pardon on the basis that Christ died for us. Revelation3:20,"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."John1:12,"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." and finally, Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

DIVINE SETTLEMENT

Last night was listening to apostle Karis speak about divine settlement over the radio and I cant explain how inspiring His teachings were. Here are some of the things I picked from his teachings hope you too can find it useful in your lives.
Dimensions of settlement
God's settlement/arrangement
God's settlement is also called divine settlement. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says that “No one has ever seen or heard…never so much as imagined…what God has arranged for those who love Him.” Most of the time as Christians we have been wanting something NOW which prevents us from receiving God’s good gifts at the time He knows is best. Like a child too eager for a birthday or Christmas, we have tried to take over for God and supply our wants in our time. We read about Abraham being promised a family that would be uncountable or the Israelites entering a land flowing with milk and honey. While God’s plan was ultimately achieved, His people suffered for trying to make things happen on their schedule. But His discipline blesses us and prepares us for an even ‘better’ future. God loves it when we humble ourselves and seek His heart and His purposes for which which He has arranged for us.
Satanic settlementGod’s Word is like a sword. It cuts through the evil plans of the devil. James 4:7 says to RESIST the devil, and he will flee from you!
Jesus warns us about Satan.... "The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep." (John 10:10-11)What would he like to steal? Anything and everything that will lead you to Jesus--to Gods love. Satan steals love from people. If we will open our eyes we will see it everywhere around us. Broken families, abuse, hatred, cruelty, murder. The Enemy would like us to think that there is no love in the world. He would like to steal from us even the ability to love and be loved.
Human settlement
The story of Joseph and potiphar best explains human arrangement. the difference between God's settlement and human settlement is that where as, the grace of God can not take you where it can not sustain you human settlement can not do the same. human beings can exalt you to a higher position of power but they can not sustain you there forever, it is the same people who will organize for your downfall.  Genesis 39 talks about the story of Joseph and potiphar, 'The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned..." However, after what happened between Joseph and Potiphar's wife, Joseph was put to prison by the same person who entrusted everything to him.19 When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, “This is how your slave treated me,” he burned with anger. 20 Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined.
Requirements for divine
settlement
You must be born again
For one to experience divine settlement he/she must be born again because those who are born again belong to the family of God. ROMANS 8:14," For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.'
John 1:12 says,"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
You must believe in His word
We must believe in the word of God for it to have impact in our lives. HEBREW 4:12,"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. the word of God also says that it is with your heart that you believe and are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and not by works.

God has a plan

Today was not one of my good days. I woke up late, the weather is awful and had to make a tough decision concerning my life and therefore I had to let go one dear friend. friends are very important people but not always.I had been contemplating about the issue for months now and today I finally made up y mind sometimes it is the only option we are left with.an important lesson i learn is that although my heart is deeply wounded I also know that those who stumble often, but who always turn with melted hearts to God for pardon and help, will find in Him a brother for all situations just like king David. In the quietness of my heart and mind I know that God is faithful and will always direct us according to His purpose if We seek Him.

PRICE FOR KNOWING HIM

There is a price for knowing Christ. there is nothing precious or valuable that comes cheap. salvation is the most expensive thing in the world, yet it is offered free because Jesus paid for it. if you are not ready to pay the price, you may never know Him. Apostle Paul gave up everything that meant anything to him just to be able to know Him. WHAT ARE YOU READY TO GIVE UP TO KNOW HIM?

SELF-MOTIVATION

  1. Dream- have a dream, only as much as you dream can you be
  2. Be hungry for that which you want
  3. Run your own race- try doing things better than yourself not better than others i.e stop fighting to be like someone else
  4. Have a cause-what is it you are living for
  5. Take one more step- when you fall don't stay where you are, failure is not final it is the courage to continue that counts
  6. Let go of the past- finish each day and be done with it

GOD'S GOODNESS

HE RENEWED MY STRENTH

I woke up this morning tired. It was residuals from the day before. I thought of all I had to do, what I had not done, and what was in the schedule for months ahead. It made me want to stay in bed. Then my loving Father spoke to me, "Come unto me if you are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest." I began to pour my heart out to Him, and then I began to thank Him and praise Him. I am now ready to face my day with renewed strength. Tell Him. He loves you. He will renew your strength.
